Frequently asked questions
How do I apply for a place at the school?
You can apply by completing the Admissions application found here.
Does my child need to take an entrance exam?
We do not require an academic entrance exam for admission, but will review behavior and academic references from previous schools.
Are there language requirements for my child to enter the school?
Aures School will provide necessary supports for students with special language learning needs. A certain level of language skill is not required for entrance, though we will test levels at the beginning of instruction to determine appropriate supports.
Is the school open for in-person or virtual learning?
The school follows the Algerian authorities' directives for opening and closing schools. We can provide seamless online instruction in case of school closure via our Google Classroom learning system and Google Meet.
What coronavirus precautions is the school taking?
The school currently has reduced class sizes to assure appropriate distancing of students. Masks are mandatory for all students and staff, with daily temperature checks and sanitation prior to entry into school
What curriculum do you follow?
Aures School applies a competency-based approach to the Algerian National Curriculum. International standards (Common Core Standards in primary leading to iSecondary, IGCSE, and AS/A levels in middle and high school) enrich all students’ learning experience.
What exams will my children take at the school?
Students prepare for success on national exams (Algerian Brevet and Baccalaureate) or may also choose to prepare for international exams including the IGCSE (international general certificate of secondary education) in grade 10 and Advanced Levels (A-Levels) in grade 12.
What does it mean to be an inclusive school?
We use Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to plan all lessons so that students of all abilities can actively participate in classrooms. Students who struggle in Arabic, who struggle to read due to dyslexia, or have trouble concentrating due to attention difficulties or simply an excess of energy will find teachers dedicated to adapting instruction to fit unique needs. The school staff includes an Orthopedagogue (learning specialist) and a team of assistants dedicated to individual and small-group support for students needing additional help.
Does the school provide transportation for students?
How much does the school cost?
Please contact our admissions team for information on cost and payment options.
